Podcast Episode 64 – Trump

Hi, English Learners!

It has been a while since the last podcast, and a lot has happened in the U.S. during that time. Of course, the big news is that this year we will elect a new president. Since January, the two major parties, the Democrats and the Republicans, have been holding primaries and caucuses throughout the country. It has been an interesting few months and as the party conventions draw nearer, the big news is that Donald Trump is the only remaining Republican Party candidate. He is now the presumptive nominee.

How did this happen? Who is this guy? Why are so many people voting for him?

In this episode, I tell you about Donald Trump, what he has been saying, what his supporters say, and explain why he is such a controversial figure.

This episode is full of useful vocabulary and great expressions.
